Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating programmatic activities of the Community Psychiatry Workforce Expansion (CPWE) initiative funded through the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium.CPWE promotes psychiatry training in community mental health.The Program Coordinator will possess strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple ongoing responsibilities, attention to detail, effective oral and written communication, and good problem-solving skills.

Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Serve as administrative liaison between the partnering community mental health organizations, faculty, trainees, and residency program staff to coordinate logistics.
  • Work with faculty leads and partner organization to coordinate educational activities in Community Mental Health.
  • Assist as a resource and point of contact for communication.
  • Assist in identifying areas of need in the program workflow.
  • Support program as needed including scheduling meetings, assisting/creating reports, and other program documents.
  • Perform all purchasing, requisition, and travel related duties according to institutional guidelines.
  • Uses excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare memos, formal correspondence, acknowledgements, notes, and reports.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior in all interactions and utilize proper telephone etiquette during every call.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills both in person and over the phone.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of operating standard office equipment.
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Ability to adapt to a Changing Environment.
  • Ethical; Able to maintain confidential information.
Qualifications


Required Education / Experience
:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Three (3) years’ experience in a related field is required.

Experience working in the healthcare field or mental healthcare field is preferred.

Preferred Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Database experience preferred.
