Job Summary:

The Research Assistant provides assistance/support for research projects in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Medicine as part of the Tx Youth Depression Suicide Research Network (YDSRN).

Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:

* Monitor for participant referrals and follow up with participants via calls/emails tracking participant status.

* Assist with recruitment and screening as needed.

* Schedule participant appointments and follow up on no shows, cancellations, etc.

* Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into database.

* Collect assessment data from patients at the baseline visit and subsequent visits as specified by the research protocol.

* Submit documentation per protocol in REDCap system.

* Document adverse and suicidality events.

* Identify and document protocol deviations as required per protocol.

* Notify Research Coordinator of participant withdrawals and protocol deviations.

* Organize file system, copy assessments, and self-audit files.

* Provide resources to participants as needed.

* Obtain required certifications for providing assessments.

* Other duties as assigned.

Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

* Excellent written and verbal communication.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, etc.)

* Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various delicate, formal or urgent situations.

Required Education / Experience:

* High school diploma or GED

* Bachelor's degree relevant to the field of work preferred.

* Two years of relevant experience preferred.
