University of Wisconsin–Madison is Hiring an Athletics Assistant Equipment Manager Near Madison, WI

Job Summary:

The Wisconsin Athletics is seeking a full-time Athletics Assistant Equipment Manager. This dynamic position reports directly to the Director of Equipment and focuses on managing equipment for our Olympic Sports Programs.

Responsibilities:

Manages inventory and maintenance of athletic equipment, works directly with vendors to select and obtain appropriate equipment. May supervise equipment room personnel for a competitive intercollegiate athletics program in support of fielding a competitive team fostering a positive student-athlete experience and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • 20% Serves as a subject matter expert and liaison to internal and external stakeholders and vendors providing information and representing the interests of the unit
  • 10% Assists with training and monitoring of equipment fit and use and makes change recommendations to ensure safety and compliance with established rules and regulations
  • 25% Develops, implements, and executes procedures and/or schedules for equipment order, distribution, storage, cleaning and repair to ensure that daily operations and procedures for athletic programs runs efficiently
  • 10% May lead the day-to-day activities of equipment staff and resolves personnel issues
  • 20% Serves as primary point of contact for staff and student-athletes regarding equipment options and provides technical information
  • 15% Audits equipment inventory levels and maintenance schedules

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

- 1 year of experience working in an athletic equipment room
- AEMA (Athletic Equipment Manager's Association) certification
- Knowledge of all types of athletic equipment and its proper use
- Knowledge of OSHA standards for blood-borne pathogens
- Attentive to detail
- Proficient in basic computer applications
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, teamwork, and collaboration abilities

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $51,955 ANNUAL (12 months)

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned
within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included.
