University of Wisconsin System is Hiring a Public Health and Environmental Studies: Lecturer Near Eau Claire, WI

POSITION:Three one semester temporary Instructional Academic Staff positions are available in the Public Health and Environmental Studies department with an emphasis in public health/environmental public health beginning September 4, 2024. The official title is in the Lecturer title series. These positions are for a one-semester appointment with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:A minimum of a master¿s degree is required from a regionally accredited institution with a preference in the areas of the fields of instruction that is relevant. The instructor for PH 710 must have an accredited terminal degree to meet CEPH accreditation requirements. The following will be considered assets: evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level, including prior teaching at UW-Eau Claire, and documented experience in the field of public health.

DUTIES:Applicants will be expected to teach one three-credit course, either in-person (PH 450) or online (ENPH 110, PH 710).

THE UNIT: The department of Public Health and Environmental Studies consists of 5 staff members and is an interdisciplinary unit housed within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. The unit offers a Masters of Public Health Degree along with undergraduate majors in Environmental Public Health and Public Health and a minor in Public Health. It also coordinates two minors: Environmental Science; and Environment, Society and Culture, and a certificate in Sustainability and Climate Action. Faculty teach courses that contribute to majors, the minors, and other disciplines within the colleges; and some courses also meet the university liberal education requirements. We seek individuals who can bring experience, good organizational skills, and an ability to teach.
