The University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont is seeking a full-time experienced clinician-supervisor to work on our Inpatient Psychiatry units.

This staff member will provide clinical supervision to group therapists and work on program development, design, and improvement. Supervision will be provided to both licensed therapists and those working toward licensure. This clinician may contribute to medical student, psychiatry and/or psychology resident education and training; provide consultation and limited direct service around behavior management and crisis stabilization; and provide consultation to the Emergency Department.

Position Requirements:

Licensure in the State of Vermont as Psychologist-Doctorate or Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician. License must be current and in good standing.

EDUCATION:

For psychologists: PsyD or PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from APA accredited program. Completion of internship from APA accredited or equivalent program. Completion of at least 1 year of postdoctoral training in a clinical setting.

For Social Workers: MSW from Accredited Masters level Social Work program.

For Mental Health Clinicians: MA or MS in a Mental Health Counseling program.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Minimum 3 years' post-licensure clinical experience in Clinical/Counseling Psychology or Psychiatric Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, including provision of individual, family, and group psychotherapy.

Strong background in clinical consultation and supervision.

Preferred:

Previous experience with program development, service delivery, and clinical supervision in inpatient or residential psychiatric settings.

Expertise with and ability to train others to employ empirically supported interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapies (including DBT, mindfulness approaches, ACT), interpersonal therapy, brief dynamically oriented therapy, and trauma-focused interventions.

Training and practice in risk assessment, workplace violence prevention, behavioral planning and consultation, brief hospital-based intervention, and multidisciplinary consultation.

Salary commensurate with experience and training.
