Position SummaryThe Engineering Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance (PM) on all facility and production equipment across two facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install new equipment and perform preventative maintenance on all facility and production equipment.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and HVAC activities as needed.
- Maintain production equipment such as filling, packaging, washing, and sterilization equipment.
- Service facility equipment including air handlers, boilers, compressors, pumps, chillers, water treatment systems, and general building maintenance.
- Conduct routine maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Work any shift as required and respond to scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- Carry and respond to communication devices like cell phones, pagers, or radios.
- Collaborate with departments to enhance manufacturing capacity by improving equipment reliability.
- Maintain open communication across departments and with management.
- Document and record operating and maintenance data; prepare purchase requisitions as directed.
- Assist with Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities.
- Perform soft soldering and solvent plastic welding for pressure applications with precision and quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Monitor and control facility alarm systems, communicating conditions to authorized personnel.
- Utilize basic hand tools, power tools, and meters (DVM, Amp, Ohm).
- Adhere to OSHA and company safety requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings and equipment installation diagrams.
- Respond promptly to critical facility issues including environmental monitoring, security, and fire alarms.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Basic knowledge or educational training in mechanical, electrical, or electronic equipment.
- One to two years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and work a 40-hour week.
- Willingness to work additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Regularly involves lifting up to 50 lbs., sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing.
- Requires use of hands for handling tools and equipment.
- Specific vision abilities such as close vision for reading and computer use.
- Accurate hearing amidst moderate office or plant noise.
- Deductive reasoning skills and ability to grasp complex issues.
- Capacity to follow instructions, work rules, and company policies.
- Commitment to safety and security practices.
- Effective stress management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Clear communication of ideas, facts, and technical information.
- Adherence to confidentiality requirements.
