The hospital partnered with sister facility, UofL Health Peace Hospital to open a voluntary inpatient medical detox unit at Mary & Elizabeth Hospital to care for patients with substance use disorders. Most recently, Cancer & Blood Specialists, located adjacent to the Mary & Elizabeth Hospital campus, became the third location of UofL Health Brown Cancer Center. At the center, patients will have continuity of care with trusted oncology and hematology providers, along with access to the multidisciplinary care, pioneering research and clinical trials of the Brown Cancer Center. Job Summary

The charge nurse assists the Clinical Manager and/or Nursing Director with the management of the unit including participating in employee evaluation, staffing and scheduling, patient and preceptor assignments, oversight of resource utilization, and initiating and overseeing quality improvement activities.
The charge nurse acts as a resource and provides information/education to unit staff.
The charge nurse is involved in service recovery, promoting customer service to both internal and external customers.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accredited by the American Heart Association (may be required for specific clinical areas). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (may be required for specific clinical areas)
