UPG Electrical is looking for a Buyer for their Mapes & Sprowl facility in Elk Grove Village, IL. The Buyer is responsible for managing procurement of goods and materials, while managing inventory levels. They will investigate, research, and select suppliers based on company requirements for cost, quality and delivery performance. Must have a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Purchases raw materials used in process and manufacture products or other business activities.
• Monitors and analyzes the commodities market, global economic conditions, and events to make informed purchase decisions.
• Identifies, evaluates, and monitors suppliers to develop reliable sourcing and ensure the quality and availability of required commodities.
• Participates in bidding and contract negotiations to obtain the best price to meet commodity needs.
• Analyzes inventory levels, manufacturing schedules, and long-term business objectives to plan and manage purchases.
• Monitors supplier metrics of Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Identifies MRO suppliers and places orders.
• Complies with all applicable regulations and standard governing the purchase and delivery of goods.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field/experience
• 2-4 years of related experience
• Previous experience in Steel Industry, preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Multi-tasking capabilities and strong organizational skills
• Previous ERP experience, MIS software experience preferred
