EARLY ELEMENTARY SPANISH TEACHER (Part-time, Preschool through 3rd grade)

Upland Country Day School is a coeducational, non-sectarian day school serving approximately 200 students in Preschool through grade 9. Located in Kennett Square, PA, southwest of Philadelphia, Upland draws students from towns throughout Chester County and northern Delaware.

.Responsibilities:

· Be fluent in Spanish and deliver to students’ world-class Spanish instruction through regular planning and implementing daily lessons focused on essential skills to speak, read and write Spanish.

· Have a genuine interest in working with early elementary students.

· Have experience teaching early elementary school for two or more years.

· Demonstrate knowledge of differentiated instruction and project-based learning.

· Have pedagogical experience with a wide variety of technology formats, platforms and applications.

· Be committed to professional growth and professional sharing.

· Work collaboratively with faculty to provide a rich and integrated program.

· Seek to add to the vibrancy to the school community by participating in campus events and activities.

Classroom Responsibilities

· Create an innovative program that introduces students to age appropriate learning.

· Prepare and execute thoughtful units of study designed to reach the different learning styles of the students in the classroom.

· Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.

· Support clear communication with colleagues, administrators, and parents regarding any student or classroom issues.

Additional Responsibilities

· Covering classes for colleagues when necessary.

· Actively participate in all in-service and orientation days.

· Experience or interest in coaching (field hockey, soccer, ice hockey, lacrosse) is highly desirable.

Minimum requirements

· Bachelor’s degree.

· Experience working with early elementary school students.

• Current Clearances:

· Act 34 - PA State Police Criminal Record Check

· Act 114 - FBI Report and Fingerprinting

· Act 151 - PA Child Abuse History Clearance

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a part-time position offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
