UPMC Mercy is searching for a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join the Inpatient Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab!
This position will work Monday-Friday from 7am-3:30pm, and will include some flexibility. A perk of this role is that weekends/holidays are not required! Preferred candidates will possess extensive education in Exercise Physiology/Science and have previous clinical experience.
Purpose:
May work in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings. Proficient in EKG interpretation. Conducts non-invasive cardiology testing which may include stress testing, Holter monitoring, and the technical functions of the pacemaker clinic. Provides group and individual exercise therapy for patients with chronic disease. Applies EKG telemetry and accurately performs 12 lead EKGs. Performs initial assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, safely and effectively administers individual and group exercise therapies, evaluates progress, and documents outcomes on patients to improve functional capacity and to offset the detrimental effects of inactivity. Educate on disease states, recovery, smoking cessation, hypertension, diabetes, medication compliance, nutrition, lipid management and stress management. Maintains open communications with coworkers, physicians and other dept staff.
