Position Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Data & Quality Assurance Analyst (DQA) to provide data management and analysis support in the development of organization-wide and program specific performance measures. The DQA examines complex data and turns it into information and insights to inform business decisions; Monitors performance and quality control plans to identify issues, or ways to improve systems and database designs; Participates in regulatory and quality improvement projects, providing guidance regarding data collection, analysis, and reporting; Collaborates with cross functional teams to identify areas where improvements in data quality can be made. The DQA will create, document and maintain business processes and procedures and collaborate with team members to improve workflows and streamline processes, ensuring data deliverables are of the highest quality. This person should be curious, familiar with data quality methods of analysis, inquisitive about the nuances of the data in our data systems, and outspoken in a way that will influence and create change and improvements in both business processes and analytics capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Management

  • Identifies, compares, and resolves data quality issues, and determines business impact level.
  • Evaluates large datasets for quality and accuracy ensuring adherence to data quality standards.
  • Determines root cause for data quality errors, and makes recommendations for long-term solutions.
  • Applies standard statistical analysis and financial models to verify data accuracy.
  • Ensures data integrity by implementing quality assurance practices, gathering and entering missing data, and resolving anomalies.
  • Identifies areas of improvement in data collection processes or systems and makes recommendations to correct any deficiencies.
  • Collects and audits data turning it into information and insight to inform business decisions.
  • Monitors performance and develops quality control plans to identify issues and ways to improve systems and database designs.
  • Maintains expertise in current and emerging data management and analysis methods.
  • Analyzes, queries and handles data according to defined business rules and procedures.
  • Manages and maintains a quality coordinator role that focuses on improving business processes.
  • Provides quality reports as requested and consistently provides relevant feedback for improved outcomes.
  • Identifies, assesses, monitors, documents, and communicates potential quality issues in the way data is collected, stored, processed, or used.
  • Identifies, compares, and resolves data quality issues.
  • Evaluates large datasets for quality and accuracy.
  • Researches and determines scope and complexity of issues so as to identify steps to fix issue.
  • Develops process improvements to enhance overall data quality.
  • Develops and executes data clean-up measures.
  • Generates reports for organizational use as directed.
  • Ensures adherence to data quality standards and provides training to data owners/users in said standards.

Quality Assurance

  • Tracks and enforces deadlines for the completion of annual, monthly, quarterly reports.
  • Ensures all funder and organizational reports are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all chart documentation is accurate and in compliance with contractual standards.
  • Ensures the quality improvement in programs by conducting chart audits and ensuring that corrections are made in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for training staff on contractual policies and procedures.
  • Updates and maintains all program documents in consultation with the Program Director.
  • Along with the Program Management Team, be the primary contact for programmatic monitoring by funders, includes coordinating monitoring visits, providing requested documentation, interfacing with monitors during the visits, responding to monitoring reports
  • Prepares correspondence related to data corrective actions, audit compliance, timelines for required activities, etc.
  • Issues timely communications to staff on contractual updates and new program policies.
  • Monitors the contract deliverables, and works with the Program Management to ensure that staff receives all required and appropriate training.
  • Attends agency and community meetings as directed by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, qualifications and ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business or a quantitative discipline (Business Data Analytics, Data Analysis, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Bachelors of Science, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in applying data analysis in a business setting.
  • Three years experience using SQL to query databases and reporting results in a summarized format.
  • 2 years of experience analyzing data and finding anomalies using strong analytic and organizational skills, with the ability to influence change.
  • 2 years of experience working in Excel using formulas, pivot tables and graphs.
  • 2 years of investigating and creating business process and system flows using Visio or similar business process tools.
  • Ability to query systems, abstract data, and clearly summarize and present data in layman’s terms.
  • Experience with predictive modeling methods is a plus.
  • Solid quantitative and analytical aptitude and the ability to apply those concepts in a business setting, identifying relevant business questions and conceptualizing quantitative solutions (key measures, reporting, analysis, etc.).
  • 2 years of experience SQL or other relational database.
  • Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight. Motivated and willing to learn.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving and conceptual thinking.
  • Must be proactive and be able to drive direction of work that needs to be completed.
  • Good soft skills including time management, communication and interpersonal skills.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Employment eligibility verification
  • Current California driver’s license and State-required insurance and a driving record acceptable to the organization and/or its insurance carrier
  • Reliable transportation; use of a personal vehicle to travel between worksites and other locations is required
  • Successful completion of background screening

SALARY RANGE

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in the range of $27.00 to $30.00 per hour.
