Urban Sky is Hiring a R&D Electronics Technician Near Denver, CO

About Urban Sky:Urban Sky is a venture-backed aerospace startup that is redefining the way we analyze Earth from the stratosphere. We design, build, operate, and sell stratospheric balloon systems. The data we collect supports a range of applications, from real-time wildfire monitoring to urban mapping.
We are writing the next chapter of stratospheric history in Denver and are seeking self-starting, open-minded, and hard-working team members.
Role Description:As Urban Sky's R&D Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for research and development PCB assembly, rework, and integrationat our Denver, CO headquarters. Your role will be crucial in ensuring we have a consistent level of quality in our R&D hardware. You'll work with our hardware engineering team to assemble R&D systems for in-house testing and test flight operations. This department is in its early stages, so you will be heavily involved inimplementing and executing organizational processes, in addition to hands-on mechatronics assembly.
This position is onsite at our Denver, CO HQ.
Key Functions:
  • Control the manufacture of various PCBAs. This includes operating our in-house equipment (pick-and-place, stenciler, reflow oven, etc)
  • Manufacture of all R&D avionics and payload systems. This includes the integration and testing of PCBAs with various electro-mechanical components
  • Troubleshoot board issues with assistance from our Electrical Engineering team
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with electronics manufacturing and debugging
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and PCB outlines
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and precision
  • Ability to document work and follow organizational processes
  • Ability to self-manage a variety of projects on a day-to-day basis in an ever-improving environment
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with 3D printing
  • Experience with PCB assembly equipment (pick and place, semi-automatic stenciler, reflow oven, etc.)
  • Exposure to a startup environment
  • Experience with RCA (root cause analysis) debugging
Benefits:
  • Base pay $25 - $36 / hour
  • We are required to post this salary range per Colorado law. Your salary will be determined based on your abilities and experience
