ROLE QUALIFICATIONS (experience, education, and skills)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Texas Pharmacy Technician License is Required .
- Basic knowledge of medications and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in computer software use, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Requires attention to detail and working knowledge of EMR systems and pharmacy management systems.
- Receive and process incoming prescription requests daily within pharmacy software - identify accurate pharmacy benefits; run eligibility check; enter medication, diagnosis, and submit claim; monitor electronic claims log; receive and respond to any rejections; ensure proper payment of claim prior to ordering medications from wholesale vendor; receive medication from wholesale vendor and label with patient information; organize and stage all medications for pharmacist review; file and maintain log book; obtain payment and coordinate delivery of prescription with patients.
- Work closely with the pharmacist to accomplish administrative tasks within pharmacy department - establish and maintain workflow for pharmacist prescription review process; file and maintain log book, including signature log book; monthly drug reconciliation; inventory control.
- Responsible for accurate inventory control counts and identifying discrepancies in inventory control counts and taking correcting action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.
- Resolve complaints and grievances related to the in-house services department. Reconcile payment reports from pharmacy software with pharmacy bank account at least monthly. Post payments into pharmacy software as they are received from payers.
- Interfaces with accounting department to accurately report expenses and monthly profitability details.
- Field inbound and outbound calls to patients and coordinate drug pick up delivery.
- Other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
