SCOPE Houlihan Lokey, a leading global investment bank, is seeking an Event AVP to join the firm’s growing marketing team. The Event AVP is responsible for helping to develop, plan, and manage the overall program execution from concept to completion of firm events. This position will join the Marketing Events Team and report into the VP of Marketing. The Event AVP will conduct thorough venue search and selection, handle contract review and negotiation, assist with event marketing, create, and manage budgets, monitor timelines, and execute on event objectives. Creativity, organizational skills, and vision will assist the firm in amplifying the brand, enhancing client and employee relations, and improve our firm’s growth through events that effectively communicate business strategy and brand personality. The Event Manager will collaborate with the events team to assist with the planning and execution of events for both external marketing and internal purposes. The ideal candidate for this role should demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask while remaining detail oriented. RESPONSIBILITIES Handle the initiation and development of conferences, seminars, special events, multi-day events, private dinners, receptions, and other firm events. Comprehensive planning and management of events as assigned, including conducting location diligence, budget management, run-of-show development, as well as on-location support, management, and execution. Research potential venues, location diligence, make recommendations, and create corresponding event budget estimates. Manage registration process, hotel room blocks, and rooming lists for conferences and multi-day events. Determine, coordinate, and execute all Banquet Event Orders. Manage all audio/visual requirements, staging, equipment, and furniture rentals, etc. Coordinate with DMCs for activities and event enhancements. Badge printing and packing supplies to prep for events. On-site event support. Work with other marketing department team members to create print and e-mail save the dates, invitations, event reminders, event web pages, confirmations, and other event collateral. Compile and review all bills and reconcile and process invoices with the accounting department. Lead stakeholder planning meetings. Identify potential event conflicts with the working team. BASIC REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject Ability to multi-task, managing numerous projects across multiple stakeholders simultaneously within compressed timeframes. Exceedingly detail-oriented and organized. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management, especially senior executives. Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think strategically. A self-motivated and results-oriented person with a proactive approach to executing new projects. A passion for creativity and creating outstanding, memorable events. Must have the ability to work well under pressure and make quick, sound decisions. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Must have detailed knowledge of venue contracts, Banquet Event Orders, and vendor relationships as they relate to events. Build on existing relationships with industry partners and vendors, such as venues, speaker bureau’s, and DMC’s. Flexible and open to changing priorities with ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 8-10 years of relevant experience encompassing all aspects of event production, implementation, and execution. Prior experience in a professional services firm (within the financial industry is a plus) Working knowledge of CRM platforms. Prior experience leveraging event related platforms such as Cvent or Meetmax. Prior experience using a project management software within a team. Prior experience and comfort working with senior executives. Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification a plus. Prior experience and confidence in working with senior executives. Salary Range Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
