The incumbent is an agency data management authority and performs data management work to plan, develop, implement, and administer systems and databases used to store and retrieve data and develop standards for the handling of data. This position provides critical support for operations and strategic planning related to CSOSA information needs.
The incumbent performs data management work to develop and administer databases used to store and retrieve data and develop standards for the handling of data. The work supports the ongoing availability of data that facilitates reporting, client population analysis, predictive studies, and other areas. The incumbent operates with extreme independence and is relied upon to ensure appropriate storage, structure, and availability of systems to support short-term and long-term requirements.
Plans and coordinates the development of data structures and access strategies in alignment with business and mission requirements. Communicates with non-technical business users to determine specific business requirements for reports and business intelligence solutions.
Performs technical troubleshooting, code debugging, and problem solving for data warehousing solutions. Participates in and supports all phases of planning and problem resolution related to data warehousing.
Coordinates implementation of new database strategies on an enterprise-wide basis. Develops and enforces standards and procedures for the storage and retrieval of institutional data.
Maintains an accurate and comprehensive inventory of data, data systems, and data storage.
Assists in implementing effective business analytics practices that drive improved decision making, efficiency, and performance. Communicates regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity, security and optimized performance at the application and database levels. Identifies, communicates, and resolves data quality and data reconciliation issues.
Delivers organized, scalable, and meaningful visualizations, and reports for a wide range of customer needs. Builds creative solutions within constraints of existing networks, systems, and policies. Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data. Proactively reviews information delivery pipeline and makes suggestions for improvement.
Collaborates with data managers, data engineering, data analysts, and subject-matter experts on projects from conception to deployment and beyond. Resolves the most difficult customer support involving integration or configuration related issues of data management.
