The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of General Counsel is searching for Employment Law/Litigation Attorneys in Denver CO who are committed to public service and representing the interests of the VA.
The Office of Chief Counsel provides legal services to VA clients, including 23 health care systems, 176 medical clinics, 21 national cemeteries, and nine regional (benefits) offices, in Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. Our labor and employment law attorneys provide day-to-day employment law advice and assistance to VA managers and supervisors within our area of responsibility. They also represent the Department in employment law litigation in forums like the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Additionally, the incumbent advises VA officials concerning legal matters arising from and affecting the operations and mission of VA. The incumbent’s advice and opinions accurately apply Federal Laws and Regulations, State Laws, and VA Policies, Directives, and Handbooks, taking into account the effect upon Veterans, the public, and the overall mission and programs of the VA.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with federal-sector employment and labor law
Grade level: GS-11 through GS-14 upon hire, depending on experience; GS-14 is full promotion potential.
