Pipe Fitters

POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is for the a manufacturing facility in Browns Summit and High Point, NC.

Responsibilities:

· Install industrial piping systems including chill water, hot water, steam, condensate, and condensed water.

· Possess working knowledge of blueprints and submittals, as well as sequencing aspects of installation of all plumbing, including roof drains, rough in, and setting fixtures.

· Fabricate pipe supports.

· Fabricate and spool copper lines.

· Work independently and solve small problem situations that occur during normal coordination with other trades.

· Instruct plumbing helpers under your supervision

· Be familiar with all safety items.

· Hold license to operate all equipment necessary to perform your job.

· Repair, cap, and test all types of plumbing piping.

· Troubleshoot issues as they arise.

· Be professional at all times.

· All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Minimum 5 years pipe fitter experience

· Must have pipe fitter hand tools

· Knowledge of pipefitter equipment and power tools

· Must have knowledge of pipe fabrication methods

· Knowledge of the different types of pipe, valves, fittings, as well as their function within the system

· Willingness to guard your own personal safety and the safety of others

· General knowledge of code requirements and limitations.

· Knowledge of all occupational hazards, including ladders

· Able to work minimum 40 plus hours per week

· Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift

· Able to stand and work for prolonged periods of time

EDUCATION:

· Minimum of a high school education or equivalent

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS:

· Self-motivated individual with a cooperative attitude a must

· Ability to communicate with shop foreman with concerns towards safety and craftsmanship

· Ability to work under direct supervision if required

· Rigging knowledge, a Plus

· Requires working in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
