US001 Graduate Management Admission Council is Hiring a Senior Manager, Data Management and Analytics Near Reston, VA

The Senior Manager, Data Management and Analytics manages GMAC’s database architectures and data-related technologies, including managing the implementation of data structures into operational applications, architecting of data technologies used to manage and store data into the overall technology stack, production monitoring of data technologies and leading the ongoing efforts to ensure high-performing, high quality databases. The role requires a deep understanding of GMAC’s business operations in order to architect technical data solutions that support ongoing strategic needs. Additionally, it involves hands-on management of the day-to-day activities related to data infrastructure of data ingestion, transformation, storage and analytics. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of the GMAC’s analytical and decision support technologies (i.e., data warehouse, reporting/visualization, decision science, data integration). Develop long-term recommendations and plans to implement data-related technologies that support GMAC’s business needs and the GMAC Technology group’s strategy (i.e., cloud, speed-to-market, out-of-the-box solutions, etc.). Manage technical consultants engaged by GMAC to develop and maintain decision support technologies, ensuring adherence to GMAC standards for software development and protection of GMAC data assets. Manage the operational support for all the production applications including ETL, DW and other analytical infrastructure. Resolve any job failures or enhancements which are needed. Collaborate with GMAC directors/VPs in developing an ongoing project pipeline of data needs, balancing business value with resource availability and deciding on optimal technologies to deliver solutions. Develop policies and controls to ensure the integrity of data and its proper use in support of business decisions at GMAC, including data retention, privacy, archiving, security, etc. Work closely with the data architect and application development team in the implementation of new and enhanced data models. Work with the data engineer to oversee the implementation of efficient and high-quality data pipelines needed to support the GMAC’s business systems. Ensure the proper training and effective use of the data-related technologies across the business: SQL Server, Microsoft Power BI, decision support tools, data integration tools. Act as the senior technical expert related to all data-related technologies used at GMAC and their interactions and integrations with the rest of the technology stack. Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or scientific field such as computer science, computer engineering, or data analytics; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience. 5 years’ experience in related field. Knowledge of software design concepts, general debugging methods, and database management techniques. Advanced level of SQL programming and database management skills. Experience as a SQL Server Database Programmer or Database Administrator developing database applications using complex SQL queries. Experience with SSIS as the ETL tool for Data Warehouse development. Demonstrated experience with data warehouse development. Experience with Azure data warehouse implementation. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with special emphasis on MS Excel and MS Access. Ability to guide others in resolving complex issues of significance to the organization. Exceptional organizational, project planning, and time management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting, and across external and internal stakeholder groups. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong attention to detail, with a keen focus on quality. Strong analytical skills. Comfort with multi-tasking. Ability to travel to various GMAC locations, when needed. Ability to work in-office and remotely according to GMAC’s hybrid work environment.
