Air Products Product Delivery Organization is accountable for driving competitive execution strategies through leading and managing the design, build, commissioning, startup, and successful handover of Industrial Gas Facilities which includes technologies such as cryogenic Air Separation, Steam Methane Reforming, POX, ATR, Electrolysis, and others to worldwide customers. Safety, Reliability, and Operational Excellence practices are followed throughout the process.

The position, Completions & Turnover Lead, is responsible for driving the SMART Completions work process using Air Products identified tools within the Americas Region in collaboration with the Global Organization. The position ensures the tool set up is properly managed to track project open items and inspections throughout the project, ensuring a complete turnover package to the stakeholders and customers.

The position is site and office based, with the expectation the incumbent will spend time on sites within the Americas and potentially at Air Products Global facilities.

The role identifies, supports, and executes the set up and tracking of deliverables in which the Completions tool is designed, ensuring proper turnover packages are accurate and complete for the facilities in the Region. The facilities range across multiple technologies such as Air Separation (ASU), Hydrogen and CO production (HYCO), Gasification and Hydrogen Electrolysis.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • The position, depending on the incumbent, may support one of a multiple of the following technologies: Air Separation (both large and Generated gas facilities), HYCO, Hydrogen Electrolysis, and Gasification.

  • Support documentation management for the Construction, Commissioning and Startup of the units as prescribed by the Completions Work Instruction Procedures

  • An integral member of a dynamic team that sets the example for being leaders in Safety during the construction, commissioning, startup, and startup stabilization period bringing new assets online

  • A member of the field leadership team to plan, manage, and prepare ensure documentation closeout for the equipment and systems for first time startup

  • Lead and provide support & guidance during the construction & commissioning of the plants. Maintain accurate documentation for the plant’s and validate commissioning activities and performance parameters. Monitor quality assurance initiatives including installation & assembly, alignment, cleanliness, integrity, etc. of the equipment being installed.

  • Mentor Junior Completions team members for their success in the positions.

  • Lead the Completions process in Construction and Commissioning teams of Air products plants. Act as a focal point for Completions management tools and interfacing with vendor and IT for resolution of issues. 

  • Drive the implementation of Completions process throughout AP projects and operations maintenance and turnarounds. Develop and improve the existing work process for site handovers, supporting systemized handover prior to Commissioning, Startup and handover.

  • Responsible for implementing robust training for users, data input quality, and user uptake and use of the Completions Management System. Work closely with site quality management teams, and ensure handovers, ITPS and work aligns with the AP gated handover process.

  • The incumbent will support delivery of the projects KPI’s, including cascading safety, quality and schedule KPI’s onto every individual as part of the CMS. 

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • Two-year technical degree preferred with >7 years’ experience in a planning role.

  • Experience and knowledge in the technologies supported a plus: Air Separation, HYCO, Gasification, Electrolysis.

  • General knowledge in all aspects of operating facilities including machinery, instrumentation and controls, electrical, mechanical systems, and advanced controls across multiple technologies.

  • Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, interpret design curves of field machinery, & function checking of field equipment

  • Field construction and commissioning experience beneficial

  • A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity.

  • Regional travel with potential Global travel – 60 - 70% of the year. Allentown, Houston, or other Air Products office locations required with home office considered.

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, computer and interpersonal skills combined with good communications skills (written and verbal).

  • Proven experience with change management in an organisation, particularly within the field of Completions, construction and/or commissioning

  • Proven experience within projects delivery, relevant working experience in systemization and completions management activities in the oil & gas industry

  • Proven track record of execution excellence & delivering results.

  • Experience with completions or commissioning tracking tools, GO or SMART Completions preferable

  • Has proven interpersonal skills associated with managing a construction work force.

  • Knowledge of operations, commissioning, fabrication standards, procedures and QA/QC. Special Abilities: Interpersonal and supervision skills

  • Good understanding of QA/QC requirements for final documentation on oil and gas related construction projects.

  • Proficient in Health Safety & Environmental management principles and its application in the Basic Safety Program.

  • Demonstrated experience in completion system training at all levels

  • Understand the core principles of Project Engineering and Project Assurance.

  • Understand and familiar with company Completions and commissioning procedures
