Location:
Tulsa, OK - W. 7th St. - Management - Central BSCESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
Ensure the accuracy & integrity of the Division/Region financial statements and other information reported to internal and external users. Direct responsibility will include:
General Accounting / Accruals, as noted below
Inventory / Stock (Mass Balance)
Product Costing
Business Insurance Renewal
Oversee fixed asset management such as CIP and physical asset counts
Manage accurate financial and statistical close processes, in conjunction with ALABS, including general ledger account reconciliations and other analyses within established timelines. Direct responsibility will include:
Significant sales accruals, that are not based on a standard report/calculation.
Significant COS & OPEX accruals, that are not based on a standard report/calculation.
Localized accounting topics including, but not limited to, real estate taxes and personal property taxes.
Ad-hoc entries arising from the month end close review process
Provide input and support to Airgas Financial Reporting on unusual items as well as Line 5 (share plans, asset disposals, settlements) and Line 9 (restructuring, etc.) topics.
Review balance sheet reconciliations performed by ALABS for the respective business unit.
Participate in the due diligence process and coordination of acquisition integration processes, as required.
Proactively, and/or as requested, develop and direct the preparation and communication of ad hoc accounting reports and analysis.
Ensure clear and timely communication of and compliance with company financial policies and procedures. Engage appropriate management to assist in remediating problems and implementing corrective actions.
Lead ongoing enhancements to accounting and reporting processes by leveraging systems and reporting tools to drive those enhancements.
Conduct technical accounting research providing appropriate guidance to local accounting team and regional finance leads.
Continuously identify and develop people, process and system improvements to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the department in serving the Sales organization and the end customer. Establish appropriate metrics to measure and monitor performance.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
CPA and/or MBA in Finance/Accounting strongly preferred.
Required Length & Type of Experience:
Minimum five years supervisor level accounting and financial reporting experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
Management experience with solid leadership qualities including team management and people development skills.
Working knowledge and experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, SAP strongly preferred.
Skilled project management, staff mentoring and employee development skills required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proven track record of success in prior senior accounting and supervisor roles.
Strong technical accounting experience, knowledge, and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong “customer service” mindset and demonstrate leadership skills required to drive continuous process improvement.
Skilled at organizational team-building and people skills. The ability to work and navigate within a complex matrixed organization.
Ability to understand the impact of new technologies and implement appropriate solutions, including experience integrating new technologies into daily operations.
‘Working Manager’ leadership style is expected to engage in the details of managing the operation while providing guidance to staff.
Strong affinity for a ‘follow-up/follow-through’ management style and proactive communicator keeping his peers, staff and other leaders updated on any changes that impact the department or company.
Ability to manage multiple priorities for the BSC, Division, and other Corporate initiatives.
Proficient in Google suite applications and Microsoft Excel as well as a demonstrated ability to utilize financial applications within SAP.
