Position Overview The Team Leader is a leadership level position that organizes and controls the production process and work activities for the shift production workers on their assigned shift with their primary focus being the current shift to 24 hours out. Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities Monitors and controls all processes via the distributive control system (DCS) Implements and reviews the production schedule Achieves department goals via working with their shift Monitors Health, Safety and Environmental compliance via a hands on approach Works closely with Shift Supervisor, and QA/QC lab, to achieve department goals Directs operating personnel from a process needs standpoint Initiates plant emergency activities when needed Communicates to all levels of the organization as appropriate to aid in achieving goals Establishes priorities on shift for process needs Escalates issues as needed to support team goals Required Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong leadership skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Ability to work unassisted with minimal to no supervision. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or higher in a science or engineering related field a plus 3 years of chemical operations/manufacturing experience Strong knowledge of operating from a distributive control system (DCS) Physical Requirements Ability to climb ladder and stairs Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times. Must pass respirator fit test Work Schedule 12 hour rotating shift including weekends and holidays. We understand that candidates will not meet every single desired qualification.
