Job Summary The ADAS Algorithm Engineer is responsible for the design and development of algorithms for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). For this specific role, the engineer will develop software using both MATLAB-Simulink and C that will perform lateral and longitudinal vehicle controls for Lane-Centering, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and L2 /L3 Hands-Free Autonomy. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree field 2-5 years of experience working in algorithm development with Matlab Simulink & Embedded Coder 1-3 years of experience working in algorithm development with modern C (C 11 or later) Experience with non-linear controls strategies (MPC, LQR, etc.) Working level knowledge of automotive serial data communication protocols (CAN, LIN, ETH) Experience with Agile methodologies/frameworks Experience with the Software V-model Experience with Linux Experience with ADAS features Exposure to standards compliance (ISO-26262, ASPICE, AUTOSAR) Familiar with configuration management and version control tools (JIRA, Polarion, Plastic, GitLab, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree field Experience with Vehicle Dynamics Modeling and State Estimation 2 years experience with dSPACE rapid prototyping hardware (MicroAutobox) 2 years experience with ROS and/or equivalent POSIX based Pub/Sub frameworks Experience with automotive calibration overlay tools and frameworks (XCP Protocol, ETAS INCA, ETAS xETK, Vector-CANape, Vector VX-1000) Working Level Knowledge of Automotive Electric Power Steering Actuators Working Level Knowledge of Automotive Braking Systems Roles and Responsibilities Design, simulate, implement, and test ADAS algorithms using MATLAB-Simulink and/or C Perform in-vehicle rapid prototyping of new/novel controls algorithms Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to ensure proper feature functionality Proactively identify and contribute to changes that help the product progress along its roadmap Analyze defects and test results to ensure KPI achievement by root causing the issues and designing algorithm improvements Design and perform tests in various environments (SiL, HiL, in-vehicle) to verify system performance and robustness Collaborate with systems engineers to support the creation and break-down of requirements and test cases Collaborate with systems engineers to support the design of end-to-end system architecture Perform system tuning and develop calibration guidelines Follow defined software development and documentation procedures Aptiv Rewards and Advantages Competitive compensation with bonus potential Learning and development opportunities Discount programs with various manufacturers and retailers Recognition for innovation and excellence Opportunities to give back to the community Tuition Reimbursement Paid Time Off (Vacation, Parental leave, etc.) Why join us?
