ChampionX has an immediate need for a Mechanic located in Odessa, TX. This position is primarily responsible for providing maintenance of any type of vehicle used to deliver chemicals to customers, plants and/or warehouse locations. Managing monthly OPEX on repair and maintenance Ensure equipment is safe and in proper working order including scheduling of preventative maintenance Manage and perform inventory tasks Ensure all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations and maintenance. Communicate effectively with the external and internal customers and build positive relationships Will be required to travel up to 10% Ensure service completed and documented on all types of delivery trucks or vehicles Inspect all vehicles once a month Ensure/perform scheduled maintenance on all delivery vehicles Perform preventive maintenance on all units as scheduled. Maintain ChampionX policy inspection maintenance records Maintain driver’s hours of service by using Turnpike and/or paper logbook reporting Keeps current on safety techniques and take advantage of all opportunities to improve driving and safety skills Recognize and avoid safety hazards in the work environment Assist in any emergency situation that may need mechanical knowledge Position Details: Route territory will include but not limited to: CITIES/AREA Work week and shift: DETAILS (including weekend rotation, if applicable) Minimum Qualifications: 2 years of diesel mechanic experience Minimum high school graduate or GED Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record (3 years) Immigration sponsorship not offered for this role. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of diesel experience Knowledge of vehicle electrical, hydraulic, and chassis systems Have certifications in brake, CVSA, and A/C systems Knowledge of use of diagnostic software (ADOC, INSITE) Experience working on hydraulic pumps and PTO Awareness of chemical safety and the measures to take in the event of skin contact or spill Have own hand tools Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), issued by the state in which the candidate resides with all the relevant endorsements (X – Hazmat & Tanker) Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At ChampionX, we believe the best teams are diverse and inclusive, and we are on a journey to create a workplace where every employee can grow and achieve their best.
