Position Summary
The Senior Director of Marketing oversees and leads the Marketing teams, strategy, and systems of the organization including Marketing and Communications team and the Marketing Operations team. This role focuses on implementing sophisticated and data-driven marketing to enable strategies of the organization. This is a critical role in the organization to connect and drive growth in the sport of Triathlon and Multisport, and effectiveness of our marketing efforts. This role works in close partnership with the Senior Director of Growth and Retention, as well as being a thought-leader in the organization to initiate new strategies that will drive growth in short- and long-term. Additionally, they are responsible for identifying and developing all processes, performance improvements and efficiencies for the marketing sides of the organization.

Essential Job Functions
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive marketing strategy and plan that supports the vision, mission, and growth of the organization
- In conjunction with the Chief Marketing and Growth Officer and other organizational leadership, develops and leads a comprehensive marketing acquisition, engagement, and retention strategy for new and existing constituents, and adapts brand strategy to each target constituency driving effective engagement of our internal and external constituents
- Oversee the execution and performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives across various channels, such as digital, social, email, content, events, PR, and partnerships, ensuring that the marketing team delivers high-quality, consistent, and relevant messages and experiences to the target audiences
- Responsible for leading cross-functional marketing initiatives from ideation to execution with a focus on driving impact for our key constituent groups and organizational needs
- Operationalize insights by identifying key metrics, measuring progress against goals, and creating processes that turn analysis into action
- Lead and shape a high-performing marketing team including, but not limited to, training, coaching, motivating, and retaining talented marketing professionals, as well as defining and communicating their roles, responsibilities, and expectations
- Collaborate with leadership across all organizational business units to support their marketing goals
- Responsible for marketing enablement tools and processes, ensuring that we have the right set of tools, people, skillsets, and processes to create and deliver on the evolving needs of the organization
- Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing/communications/ public relations program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
- Reduce inefficiencies and drive new business growth through greater advocacy of the USAT brand and organization through thoughtful and strategic marketing
- Is an inspirational leader by challenging and maximizing the strength of the team and aligning the efforts to the mission and vision of USAT.

- Proactive, self-directed and approachable problem-solver who confers a sense of urgency and customer service with the entire multisport community in mind
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, changing environment as part of a team atmosphere, including effective coordination with other business units
- Strong organizational/project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
- Highly analytical, adept at finding meaning and summarizing key insights from ambiguous data sets combined with superb communication skills
- Curious, self-motivated, bias-for-action (“no task is too small” mentality)
- Ability to coach, mentor, motivate, and lead high performing teams
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required (or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies and technical knowledge to be successful)
- Eight or more years of relevant work experience, preferably within a fast-paced, high-growth environment in a marketing, communications, digital operations, or strategic growth role(s)
- Five or more years of experience managing full-service marketing teams (marketing, comms, social, operations, digital) teams
- Three or more years of Senior level management and strategic experience to include leading high functioning teams to drive forward complex initiatives
- Established track record of exceeding targets, marketing KPIs and key engagement metrics
- Preferred: Senior level sports leadership with oversight of large and small groups
- Preferred: Experience with the sport of triathlon or endurance sports
Other- Job is onsite located in Colorado Springs, Colorado and allows for a hybrid work schedule as coordinated with the supervisor
