Job Description

The Lead, National Team Events is a regular full-time position reporting directly to the Director, Beach & National Team Events and Sponsorship. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting a range of administrative, logistical and sponsorship duties supporting National Team Events, managing Value in Kind (VIK) inventory, and is also responsible for part-time assistance with the archiving system at USA Volleyball. Competitive Excellence is a top strategic priority of USA Volleyball, therefore, organization and the ability to prioritize competing demands are key attributes necessary to be successful in this role. Cross departmental support is a general expectation of all USAV employees. Additional hours may be required to include nights, weekends, and holidays. The position is located in the Colorado Springs office. Working from a remote location is not an option for this position. Moderate travel will be required.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Manage National Team Events within the United States increasing success and efficiency while staying within budget parameters.
  • Identify operational efficiencies while ensuring program quality.
  • Execute NORCECA events within the United States and manage the allocated budget.
  • Manage logistical activities for National Team Events to include shipping of equipment, VIK, contracting onsite labor.
  • Identify and secure independent contractors and/or propose additional support measures. Ensure independent contractor agreements are fulfilled in accordance with contractual terms and deadlines.
  • Reconcile NetSuite Independent Contractor and Vendor Payments for National Team Events.
  • Responsible for forecasting, managing, and executing assigned budget.
  • Maintain team event handbooks for distribution and management of events.
  • Coordinate and execute logistical activities for National Team Events and provide on-site operational support. Activities include preparing/shipping pallets, assisting with set-up/tear-down of events, providing signage, tent cards and forms.
  • Assist Director, Beach & National Team Events with Sponsor deliverables.
  • Manage the (VIK) system and submit timely reports to the Finance department.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing inventory controls that can be applied across USAV business units.
  • Work with apparel and equipment sponsor to develop quad calendar plans. Manage all department orders and track department allotments.
  • Responsible for procurement, quality control inspection, identification, and replacement of defective items. Conduct monthly calls with select sponsor(s).
  • Work with apparel and equipment sponsors to identify and implement procurement efficiencies.
  • Support logistics with enhancing Olympic game experiences for staff, family, and friends.
  • Produce credentials for select events using the Data Card system – which can include National team events, beach events, USAV BOD/Region meetings, and sanctioned events.
  • If time allows, assist with archiving projects.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Three years of relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be able to work well independently, collaborate with USAV departments, foreign team representatives, independent contractors and other USAV constituents.
  • Previous work with USAV programs and/or events is a plus.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date).
  • Must successfully complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date and remain current.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 annually
