As USAC continues to support universal service impacting health care providers, educators, and consumers, it is critical now more than ever that we hire people equally passionate and committed to helping fulfill our mission. We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic and collaborative professional to serve as a Senior GIS Analyst with our Data Strategy team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of GIS you will:
  • Create business intelligence reports and analyses across all divisions within USAC. This person defines and gathers reporting requirements, creates or modifies reporting data sources as needed, and aggregates and presents information to meet internal and external reporting needs
  • Create and update reporting data models and ensure alignment to comprehensive reporting requirements
  • Create and maintain queries using SQL or other programming languages as necessary for consistency and efficiency of data retrieval from various systems
  • Create reports using USAC's Bl platform (currently Tableau) to meet business reporting requirements
  • Lead the preparation of internal and external reporting and metrics for assigned portfolio
  • Design and develop data visualizations using Tableau and other software applications to present program insights, analysis, and issues
  • Relay program statistics, trends, patterns, etc. using large sets of program data
  • Create or update datasets on USAC's open data platform
About You
  • Degree and/or relevant technical training with no preferred certification.
  • Three (3) to Four (4) years of directly related experience, including SQL (Structured Query Language).
  • Experience in analytics technologies, especially Tableau.
  • Ability to work independently, but also collaborate and work across other departments and teams as needed.
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing research using multiple data sources, often with conflicting definitions or results. Must have experience deconflicting data sources.
  • Experience presenting complex analysis, report concepts, and results in plain English for a non-technical audience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and Bachelor accuracy.
  • Proven experience manipulating large quantities of data.
  • Experience presenting complex reports and results in plain language English for a non-technical audience using data visualizations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Telecom experience a plus, but not required
