DutiesYou will:
- Serve as a Senior National expert in database management, responsible for a wide range of data management activities to include strategic planning, policy and standards development, knowledge management, auditing, and information security management.
- Provide advice to agency officials on IT Programs and managing databases to deliver web-based dashboards that allow decision makers access to actionable scientific research data about chemicals to meet specific EPA Program Office (PO) or State needs.
- Lead the design, configuration, implementation and documenting of relational and non-relational data stores in multiple environments from beginning to end, including completing the selection of tools, technologies, and automation processes.
When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. In addition to the basic education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below:
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as providing technical advice related to information technology systems; managing database activities and/or optimization; and presenting presentations and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-14 level defined as providing technical advice related to information technology systems; managing database activities and/or optimization; and coaching, leading, or mentoring others.

- Knowledge of IT theories, principles, concepts, and practices sufficient to advise on IT programs and web development.
- Knowledge of user centered design, consumer internet technologies, service delivery, and technology management approaches.

EducationYou must have one of the following:
-bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks;
OR
-IT-related experience demonstrating each of these four competencies:
