Duties
  • Administers or supports natural resources management/conservation programs and policy nation-wide.
  • Provides direction for a wide range of complex natural resources management programs and initiatives.
  • Ensures the Agencies mission is pursuant to the conservation of natural resources management and all associated natural resource conservation programs and activities are accomplished.
  • Represents the division, NRCS, or USDA on assigned committees, task forces, and other technical or strategic planning groups involving assigned natural resources management program functions.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree: Bachelor's or higher degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
  • Combination of Education and Experience: This includes courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In Addition To Meeting One Of The Basic Requirements Listed Above, Applicants Must Meet The Following Minimum Qualifications Requirement In Order To Be Considered:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
  • Identify and solve natural resources management problems;
  • Apply data analysis methods in order to evaluate natural resources management issues; and
  • Provide guidance to various organizations for carrying out their activities within their roles of natural resources management programs.

This position may be eligible for telework within the local commuting area of the position and other flexible work arrangements. Other flexibilities are possible dependent upon availability and/or the position and its associated duties. Employee participation is at the discretion of the supervisor.
