Job Summary
 
This twelve-month, tenure-track position requires teaching graduatecourses in the Physician Assistant Studies degree program. Development of aprogrammatic line of research leading to referred publication and participationin program, school, university and community activities are required. This is anew program that will need to be developed between programmatic faculty and theSchool of Health Professions prior to the first cohort of students beingadmitted.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teaches graduate students in a variety of courses in Physician AssistantStudies. Teaching includes preparation of course materials such as syllabi,course content, homework assignments, and handouts; evaluation and grading ofstudents’ class work, assignments, and papers; acts as academic advisor forgroups of students; maintains student attendance records, grades, and otherrequired records.
  2. Curriculum development, organization, and evaluation in preparation forinitial and ongoing accreditation requirements.
  3. Communicates any concerns or issues with the course coordinator, programcoordinator or school director.
  4. Submits course specific documentation as scheduled.
  5. Clearly communicates course requirements to students.
  6. Develops exam questions, contributes to question banks, participates inpost-exam evaluation of exam content, and proctors exams as needed.
  7. Maintains office hours to assure availability to assigned students forsupport including but not limited to advisement, exam review, requiredremediation, and summative evaluations.
  8. Participates in required PA program accreditation self-study activities,and in departmental tasks such as admissions, curriculum, and remediationcommittees.
  9. Pursues research and scholarly activity designed to result inpeer-reviewed publication, professional presentations, and external funding.
  10. Participates in service opportunities that impact the universitycommunity, professional community, and/or local community.
  11. Participates in the shared governance of the University, college, andschool through various opportunities for engagement on campus.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
