We are looking for a Small Diameter Saw Benchman to join our Carolina Cutting Tools team in Newberry, SC. We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated employee that's wiling to learn. Come and grow with us!
What you will be doing:
Inexperienced benchmen start out crating saws while learning to work safely in the saw production environment.
Operate alternately more than one type of machine tool such as hammers, stretcher rolls, plate leveling machines, gauge grinders and hammer grinders etc.
Use hand tools and measuring instruments.
Set-up and operate all available machine tools.
Perform progressive operations on work involving close tolerances or unusual requirements.
Uses skillfully all hand tools and measuring instruments.
Perform complex operations in support of production operations under limited supervision.
Additional duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
2 years manufacturing production experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
Vocational trade school or equivalent program a plus.
Familiarity with working properties of various materials to match customer requirements.
Demonstrated lean techniques and ability to meet TAKT times.
Ability to work as part of a team, with behavior that upholds company values and standards.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Promote safety in the workplace and adhere to the safety standards of the company.
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. frequently. Ability to stand at a minimum of 8 hours per shift.
Ability to work overtime when needed.
