Job Overview

The Venue Manager will be tasked with ownership of the operations for the assigned venue to ensure it is an efficient, effective, and profitable facility. This position will oversee daily operations of the venue, execution of events, oversight of energy management programs, cash handling procedures, venue walk throughs, event rentals, food & beverage operations, vendor relations, and other duties as needed.

Ultimately, the Venue Manager will be primarily responsible for running all the facility’s day-to-day operations and have functional oversight of and event operations with support from other internal teams.

Responsibilities:

• Be the public face for the assigned venue
• Provide boots on the ground support to the Director of Venues by cultivating local relationships and sponsorship leads, servicing city stakeholders, servicing premium seat and group sales clients, managing food & beverage program, etc.
• In conjunction with the Director of Finance, provide financial oversight including cash management protocols, financial reporting, expense management, etc. for the venue
• Provide boots on the ground support to the Director of Venues, Event Sales Manager and Talent Buyers for event execution including venue walk throughs, rental lead generations, event staff oversight, artist hospitality, etc.
• Manage the venue’s building systems including development of an energy management protocol, scheduling of annual maintenance, and usage of industry best practices.
• Oversee building vendors program including cleaning services, building system technicians, deliveries/post office, utilities, etc. to ensure venue is always clean, in good working order, and supplied.
• Implement and manage a security procedure for the venue including key management, security code management, and camera system.
• Provide consultation & support to venue operations teams at Spectacle’s other managed venues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality management, sports management, business administration or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of escalating experience in event management, facility management, food & beverage preferred.
• Experience with automated building systems and energy management are preferred.
• Experience in project management, event management, risk management, contracting, etc. strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of operational characteristics of events, including crowd management and control techniques; fire and public safety regulations, food service practices, A/V equipment and relevant federal, state, and local regulations preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended number of consecutive days.
• Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Good leadership skills with the ability to manage others, organize multiple projects at once, manage your time, and create high quality deliverables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Schedule

• This is a full-time position.
• Standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm.
• Facility Manager will be expected to be at the venue on nights and weekends when events are being held in their venue or venue access is needed.
