Area Manager Overview
As the Area Manager, you will direct the delivery operations of the assigned locations within your market. You will manage the employees, contractors, and your client relationships. The cornerstone of UST's growth and success is built upon the expectation that EVERY team member will Execute Excellence Every time - simply known internally as E3.
Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to)

• Analyzes scheduling and routing procedures as well as statistical and routine reports for operation analysis
• Conducts recruiting and training of all delivery, warehouse, customer service, and all office personnel
• Conducts ride behind and evaluation of contractors to determine skill levels
• Coordinates with customer service to ensure that all customers are satisfied
• Directs and assists the delivery department in accomplishing their deliveries
• Ensures all claims are charged back to the appropriate contractor
• Ensures all operations remain in compliance with DOT and OSHA requirements
• Ensures that maintenance of all delivery and service vehicles are completed
• Ensures the routing department achieves all daily shipping goals
• Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with all members of store personnel
• Handles all needs of customers
• Monitors weekly reports to ensure financial objectives are being met
• Monitors weekly settlements to ensure contractors goals are being achieved
• Oversees loading and unloading of all delivery vehicles
• Sets goals and tracks all performance related statistics

Requirements

• Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
• Ability to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
• Higher education and/or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Valid Driver's License
