JOB TITLE : Community Outreach Lead

LOCATION : 125 East 300 South, Provo, UT 84606 & Remote

HOURS : 2-7 Hours per week

interactive events, public speaking engagements, volunteer coordination, and community involvement, you will contribute to the successful integration and long-term well-being of resettled refugees while raising awareness about the

agency's mission and programs.

Responsibilities :

Develop and Implement Outreach Strategy :

Design and execute a comprehensive outreach strategy to engage community stakeholders, including

government agencies, NGOs, schools, faith-based organizations, businesses, and local community groups.

• Identify target audiences and develop tailored outreach plans to increase understanding, acceptance, and support for refugees within the community.
• Coordinate and lead interactive events and workshops that facilitate cultural exchange, promote dialogue, and create opportunities for community members to interact with refugees.
• Provide education and promote awareness of the Welcome Corps program in partnership with Utah Valley Refugees.

Relationship Building and Public Speaking :

Cultivate and maintain relationships with key community leaders, organizations, and individuals to

build a robust network of support for refugees.

Act as a spokesperson for the agency, delivering public speeches and presentations at community

events, schools, and other relevant platforms to raise awareness about refugee issues, the agency's mission, and the resettlement process.

Attend community meetings, forums, and conferences to represent the agency's interests and advocate for refugee rights and integration.

Community Events and Collaborations :

Plan, organize, and participate in community events, such as cultural festivals, workshops, and panels, to showcase

refugee cultures, promote integration, and foster community cohesion.

• Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and businesses to create collaborative initiatives that support refugee integration and inclusion.
• Coordinate joint events and projects that engage both refugees and community members in shared

activities and experiences.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, international relations, communications, public health, or community development).
• Proven experience in community outreach, public speaking, event coordination, or related roles, preferably within the context of refugee resettlement or immigrant services.
• In-depth knowledge of refugee issues, immigration policies, and cultural diversity.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver compelling messages to different audiences.
• Experience in organizing and facilitating interactive events and workshops.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Foreign language not required.
• Minimum one year commitment.
