Job Description
The IT Infrastructure Director serves as the primary site lead for a major client, overseeing the strategic and technical management of IT infrastructure services. This role involves leading technical teams, coordinating infrastructure planning, and fostering relationships with client executives to align technology initiatives with business objectives. The Director will manage technical programs and projects, ensuring successful delivery while acting as the primary point of contact between UTEC and the client.
Responsibilities
- Client Leadership & Relationship Management:
- Act as the infrastructure site lead for a client, serving as the primary liaison between UTEC and the client’s executive team.
- Collaborate with client executives on technology road mapping, visioning, and strategic alignment with business goals.
- Maintain strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnership growth.
- Technical Oversight & Planning:
- Provide leadership and oversight to technical teams, ensuring effective performance and development.
- Lead technical planning efforts for infrastructure, including upgrades, implementations, and maintenance.
- Ensure infrastructure systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Manage onsite staff and coordinate remote resources for absences and projects as needed with UTEC headquarters.
- Program & Project Management:
- Manage large-scale technical programs and projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality outcomes.
- Define project scopes, goals, and deliverables while managing risks and resolving issues.
- Budgeting & Resource Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for IT infrastructure initiatives, optimizing resources to achieve operational efficiency.
- Ensure cost-effective solutions while meeting performance and scalability needs.
- Compliance & Best Practices:
- Ensure all infrastructure activities comply with organizational policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance infrastructure reliability, security, and efficiency.
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering).
- Experience:
- 5 years of proven experience in IT infrastructure management, including technical team oversight and strategic planning.
- Extensive experience managing complex technical projects and programs.
- Experience in client-facing roles, with strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Certifications:
- PMP certification is highly desirable, but demonstrated project management expertise is required.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in budgeting, resource planning, and vendor management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with technical teams and senior executives.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure systems, including networking, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.
