Job Summary: As a Substation Construction Crew Member, you will play a crucial role in the construction and installation of electrical substations. Working as part of a team, you will assist in various tasks related to the construction, maintenance, and upgrading of substation facilities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with Construction Tasks:

  • Assist in the assembly and installation of substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and other electrical components.
  • Support the construction of substation foundations, structures, and fencing.
  • Perform trenching, excavation, and backfilling as needed for cable installation and grounding systems.

• Safety Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to supervisors immediately.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other crew members, contractors, and subcontractors to complete tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members to coordinate work activities.

• Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on construction equipment and tools, such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs.
  • Report any equipment defects or malfunctions for repair or replacement.

Qualifications:

• Experience:

  • Previous experience in construction, electrical, or related fields is preferred.
  • Familiarity with construction tools, equipment, and techniques is advantageous.

• Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy objects.
  • Comfort working at heights and in outdoor environments with exposure to various weather conditions.
