POSITION SUMMARY: The Systems Engineering Supervisor is responsible to provide direction and leadership for Enterprise Systems which include VDI infrastructure, Workstations management, Application packaging and deployment, and Enterprise security solutions aligned with strategic goals and objectives for UW Health. The Supervisor ensures the effective operation of the team and is accountable for the successful completion of all work assigned to the workgroup. The incumbent plans, organizes, assigns, schedules, and controls workflow for the team. The Supervisor functions as an expert resource in advanced systems analysis for staff and users to assist in complex problem troubleshooting and resolution. The Supervisor identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness and constantly ensures that all team members are working at the top of their skills and knowledge. The Supervisor effectively partners with operational colleagues to ensure successful organizational change management, adoption of solutions, and value realization. The Supervisor will also work within appropriate governance structures to determine system requirements, process re-engineering issues, and solution design and implementation strategies. The Supervisor will have extensive experience, demonstrating the ability to consistently perform at an exceptional level. Work at this level involves justifying system design and concepts to end users in a manner that is easily understood. The incumbent must possess organizational skills that lead to the effective management of projects, tasks, applications, and employees. These skills include: analysis, problem definition and solution, conflict resolution, team/project management, planning and consulting. Excellent communication skills are crucial to successful performance in this position. Problems encountered are of a high degree of complexity and difficulty and require exceptional analytical skills, innovation, and creativity to formulate and implement the mechanisms to identify and solve problems. The Supervisor leads by example to develop a culture centered on respect, service, empowerment, and accountability. The Supervisor develops and sustains consultative, trusted advisor relationships with stakeholders, and contribute to a learning environment and a learning health system, across the UW Health. |
