Service /Chassis Prep Supervisor Position

Job Summary:

  • A Service Supervisor will interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner while receiving and discharging trucks to and from the Service Center. A Service Technician will operate all makes and models of Vac Con trucks to diagnose and repair deficiencies of the unit. A Service Technician will properly prepare both written and electronic documentation pertaining to ser Customer Satisfaction
  • The Chassis Prep Supervisor will build unit up before painting takes effect. Can also build new units at the same time in different bays. Responsible for safety and the efficiency of meeting deadlines. Will manage both departments to ensure both schedules are met. Work closely with Engineering, PST and Assembly Shop to ensure that product is built correctly and in a timely manner.

Essential Job Functions/Duties:

  • Identify deficiencies in the operation of all models of Vac Con trucks.
  • Oversees the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment including engines, hydraulics, and transmissions.
  • Leads service technicians in removing, disassembling, replacing, cleaning, and/or reassembling components.
  • Helps service technicians diagnose issues and select the proper tools and protocols for assignments.
  • Maintains inventory of replacement parts, tools, and equipment required for operations.
  • Identifies materials, parts and supplies needed to complete a repair in a safe and efficient manner. You must be able to drive and operate Vac Con trucks of all models.
  • Uses a computer and computer programs to find information concerning the assemblies, schematics, and truck information.
  • Follow prints and schematics as well as technical manuals, written and spoken instructions.
  • 3 years' experience building new units.
  • Have an up to date CDL Licenses.
  • Adept at use of all required tools such as cranes, magnetic drills, air hammers, plasma torch, welders and so on.
  • Expert knowledge of hydraulic and electrical componentry and how it relates to use of the truck by the customer.
  • Executes standard work as deemed by management in order to build the truck as efficiently as possible without rework.
