Job Details

Enterprise Applications Manager

The Enterprise Applications Manager leads a team of Application Developers and serves as the primary point of contact for internal customers. This role ensures the uptime of application and infrastructure services and collaborates with business units to define acceptable service levels and business continuity procedures. The manager works with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to design and deploy technical solutions, ensuring product adoption. As a subject matter expert, this individual evaluates new technologies and helps build business cases to continuously improve IT solutions and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage developers, providing growth and career development opportunities.
  • Oversee software solutions delivered by the team and act as the technical escalation point, offering leadership, mentoring, and coaching to developers.
  • Ensure all decisions, projects, and process improvements align with the team's strategic vision by using strong problem-solving skills and good judgment, while implementing best practices around code development and application architecture.
  • Manage projects to streamline processes and improve efficiencies through completion.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Adhere to project plans and timelines, regularly communicating with management, key stakeholders, and technical support colleagues about team performance, code delivery, and pertinent issues to deliver a high-quality product.
  • Review code work for accuracy and functionality; conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex technical design issues.
  • Provide comprehensive support to customers and stakeholders, achieving resolution to outstanding problems or issues.
  • Design and update software databases, including software applications, websites, data communication processes, and user interfaces.
  • Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation and reports as requested.
  • Stay ahead of trends and best practices within areas of responsibility, identifying and introducing improvements or new technologies to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of organizational and user needs to provide information about software capabilities, changes, and technical limitations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in people management.
  • 5 years of experience in software application development.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and balance immediate and long-term priorities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to balance workload across the team and translate high-level strategy into tactical execution.
  • Ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities for increased efficiency (e.g., new coding techniques, vendor solutions, common libraries).
  • Ability to make strong technical decisions that provide solutions to business challenges.
