Our client is actively seeking a skilled Senior Zabbix Engineer to enhance their IT infrastructure and support daily operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining and optimizing their Linux on-premises environment, ensuring robust application monitoring, and contributing to overall system resilience.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain and support a Linux on-premises environment, specifically RHEL 8 boxes, to ensure stable operations.

- Engineer and administer Zabbix 6.0, including setup, configuration, and optimization to meet the organization's monitoring needs.

- Manage and maintain Postgres databases that are integral to the monitoring setup.

- Act as a Tier II or Tier III escalation point for resolving critical system and network issues.

- Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate and enhance system functionalities.

- Create and update Bash scripts for various administrative and operational tasks.

- Conduct regular disaster recovery (DR) testing to ensure continuity and understand Zabbix failover processes.

Requirements:

- Proven experience with Zabbix 6.0 or higher, within a banking environment.

- Strong expertise in managing and configuring Linux environments, with a focus on RHEL 8.

- Hands-on experience with Postgres database management.

- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting, with a strong understanding of script-based automation.

- In-depth knowledge of disaster recovery testing and familiarity with Zabbix failover mechanisms.

- Certifications related to Zabbix technology are highly desirable.

Interaction:

This role requires close collaboration with various teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across platforms:

- Work alongside the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team that transitioned from Solarwinds to Zabbix.

- Coordinate with the Networking team to ensure optimal network performance and monitoring.

- Engage with the Engineering team to align monitoring solutions with system architecture.

- Interface with the Linux/Windows team managed by Tata/TCS, which handles all Tier I support.

Teammates:

- Report directly to the Zabbix Lead.

- Collaborate with Level 1 Support to enhance monitoring capabilities and response strategies.
