Duties & Responsibilities:
- Top "must have's":
- Creating PO's to send off to accounting, working directly with vendors.
- Experienced with mechanical purchasing experience
- Sources materials from a list of preferred vendors. Develop and maintain vendor relationships. Update purchasing information related to sourcing activities
- Processes Purchase Orders in a timely manner and obtain Purchase Order acknowledgements from Suppliers. Update Purchase Orders with delivery dates/lead times, and relevant notes necessary to communicate status of material.
- Monitors open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries, alert Storeroom, Planning and/or management as needed of any potential issues
- At least 3 years' buyer experience, production buying experience is highly preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree is highly preferred but not required.
- This position requires strong analytical and good MS Office skills to monitor inventory levels and analyze historical data so that sound purchasing decisions are made and stock outs are avoided.
