PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE

To oversee the work of a housekeeping staff unit as well as perform a variety of routine housekeeping tasks with the hotel including organizing and delivery of inventory, supplies and equipment to the housekeeping staff unit and return to storage at end of day.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow The Resort’s etiquette guidelines.
• Clean floors, vacuum, sweep, dust, mop, wash, strip, wax, buff, and shampoo carpets.
• Wash windows, walls, tables, etc.
• Dust furniture, fixtures and woodwork.
• Strip and make beds.
• Clean and stock bathrooms.
• Straighten rooms, stock guest rooms with glasses, stationary and the like.
• Empty trash receptacles and pick up litter in and around buildings.
• Replace light bulbs.
• Move furniture.
• Perform some routine inspection and maintenance of electrical, heating and ventilating equipment. Perform related housekeeping tasks as assigned.
• Follow established health and safety procedures for using cleaning chemicals etc.
• Organize inventory, supplies and equipment according to needs and schedules of housekeeping staff units.
• Oversee the activities of a housekeeping unit; train staff in basic work methods; assign and check specific duties, report any problems with workers to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Repetitive bending, walking, lifting, kneeling, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic education (high school) desirable, plus one year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
• Good knowledge and skills in routine housekeeping.
• Good basic organizational skills.
• Ability to direct and coordinate the work of others.
• Ability to perform all job duties.
