Vale Group is partnering with a premier commercial drywall contractor based in the NYC Metro Area, currently seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead their estimation department. This pivotal role offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and is based in an onsite work environment. The Chief Estimator will play a critical role in steering the company's financial direction by providing accurate and strategic bid estimates, overseeing the estimation team, and fostering strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities of the Chief Estimator:

• Lead and mentor the estimating team in preparing bids, analyzing subcontractor proposals, and determining project costs.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
• Develop and refine estimating methods and procedures to enhance the department's efficiency and effectiveness.
• Oversee the solicitation of vendor and subcontractor bids, evaluating their qualifications and reliability.
• Participate in client meetings, proposal presentations, and negotiations, acting as a key representative of the company.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, costs, and code requirements affecting drywall construction estimating.

Requirements for the Chief Estimator:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on commercial drywall projects.
• Proven leadership experience in managing an estimating team.
• Expertise in estimating software and tools, with a strong ability to adapt to new technologies.
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and a detail-oriented approach to managing multiple projects and deadlines.
