Preschool Floater

Overview:
Join our team as a Preschool Floater and play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our young learners. As a Floater, you will assist the preschool staff in creating a nurturing environment for our children.

Floater Responsibilities:

1. Implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of the children.

2. Follow and assist with the execution of emergency procedures.

3. Follows classroom structure.

4. Ensure children are supervised in all areas of the facility and grounds.

5. Communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that children understand.

6. Actively engage with children at their level.

7. Complete all documentation as required.

8. Be punctual and complete all assigned work during the scheduled workdays.

Duties of the Floater:

1. Relieves each staff member according to the schedule provided.

2. Prepares snacks that may need to be cut, counted, or assembled for the day or the next day.

3. Deliver snack to a classroom that may not have gathered them earlier.

4. Distribute cold foods and milk for lunch and collect the milk afterwards.

5. Assists in special projects in the classroom with prior approval from the office.

6. Relieves teachers to allow time for assessing students, if applicable.

7. Relieves teachers for time to prepare progress reports, if applicable.

8. Substitutes in a classroom if other arrangements cannot be made.

9. Assists office staff with projects such as lamination, filing, making copies, etc. when extra time is

available.

10. Straightens the staff kitchen/supply room at the end of each day.

11. Fill ice trays each afternoon before you leave.

12. Create a list of materials needed for snack and notify the office when milk is needed.

13. As needed, wipe down all equipment in gym closet.

14. Assists with cleaning classroom toys.

15. Attends specific staff meetings and parent meetings, and supports specific activities sponsored

by the school. These meetings include prep time for the beginning of the school year, Teacher

Brunch, Back to School night, October Teacher Development Day, Clean-up Day in June.

16. Cleans refrigerator shelves, as needed.

17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma required
- Completion of Basic Health and Safety and Aide certification course (or willing to complete)
- Preferably one year or more of childcare experience
- Availability from 9:30am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday
- Ability to lift forty (40) pounds
- Capable of moving and carrying equipment and children
- Comfortable sitting and playing with children on the floor
- Willingness to clean and maintain classroom areas
- Able to supervise children on the playground or in the gym

This is a parttime position from August 2024 through the first week of June 2025, with potential additional hours available for our summer weeks program. Don't miss the opportunity to be part of our dedicated team and make a difference in the lives of young learners!

Pay: $14,000.00 - $14,315.00 per year
