Responsibilities
- Create and implement training sessions that focus on improving technical proficiency, tactical awareness and physical fitness
- Analyze team's performance and provide feedback to players
- Develop strategies for team's success and prepare game plans that maximize team's potential
- Mentor and motivate players to reach their full potential
- Maintain a safe and positive training and playing environment for all team members
- Travels with student athletes on the team both to and from away games.
- Ensures that medical and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Interacts with parents, students, staff, opponents, officials and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
- Professionally represents the school at all athletic functions and interactions with parents, community and staff.
- Is punctual to all practices, games and athletic functions.
- Monitors academic progress of all team members.
- Must have a minimum 3 years of experience as a rugby coach or assistant coach.
- Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of the sport.
- Must be able to establish and foster effective working relationships with school administrators, parents and students.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage players of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Experience in developing youth players is a plus
