DIRECTOR OF NURSING (RN) $10,000 Sign-On

Valley Hope of Moundridge has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic nursing leader to join our dedicated and passionate team in this key role of Director of Nursing. The ideal candidate will have previous nurse manager, ADON, or DON experience within the SUD or mental health field.

Valley Hope of Moundridge, located just north of Wichita, has provided residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment services since 2010. Our work is mission-driven, supported by a strong culture of teamwork and a compassionate environment that is the foundation of the Valley Hope organization.

Valley Hope nurses specialize in making patients feel loved from the moment they walk in the door by providing compassionate medical care, key to the short and long-term success of patients in recovery. Nurses typically work with patients from admission to discharge, providing supportive medical care over 30-45 days of treatment, offering a unique treatment approach, and rewarding work experience with hands on help for patients to heal and recover in real time.

The work is fulfilling, mission focused, yet more relaxed than the standard hospital setting.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment
  • Six (6) plus years of clinical nursing care work experience.
  • Six (6) plus years of progressive work and relevant industry experience
  • Four (4) plus years of supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Work experience with healthcare accreditation with preference within the substance abuse treatment industry.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) is preferred

COMPENSATION:

  • $10,000 Sign-On Bonus
  • Starting annual salary ranges from $100K - $110K based on education/experience

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Oversees and manages the medical nursing services for the residential treatment facility including 24-hour professional nursing services, medical case management, inpatient medical care treatment, and nursing orientation and training
  • Directly supervises the Assistant Nursing Director and all nursing staff. Provides routine performance feedback, ongoing leadership, and mentoring in support of staff development
  • Ensures proper and adequate treatment provided during emergencies by nursing staff and that established policies and procedures for all medical emergencies are consistently followed (i.e., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens, etc.)
  • Participates in facility performance improvement activities and leads efforts specific to medical nursing services and improving nursing care quality. Collaborates with facility management staff to identify and implement improvement activities across the facility
  • Oversees and manages the security, control, and administration of drugs, medications, treatments, and tests as allowed by law
  • Maintains appropriate standards of patient confidentiality; ensures nursing staff adheres to all policies and procedures regarding patient information protection and HIPPA
  • Oversees and manages all medical nursing tasks and activities required to maintain compliance with Joint Commission as well as any other regulatory bodies
  • Leads effort to build the skills and competencies of the nursing staff as needed to meet minimum requirements as specified by customary standards of nursing practice, external accrediting agency guidelines, and internal organizational guidelines
  • Ensures effective communications between the medical department and all other clinical and support-service department.
  • Manages the facility’s medical nursing services annual budget to ensure financial goals are being achieved and budget met. Communicates areas of concern and issues to Program Director and/or Business Manager as appropriate
