Description

Valley Pacific is looking for a Fleet Mechanic to maintain its fleet of delivery trucks in the Bakersfield, CA area. This person will assist in maintenance and repairs of the truck fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• This person will also assist in helping keeping track of all maintenance records, DVIRS.
• The successful candidate will have excellent communication (listening), negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• VPPS is looking for someone who has excellent inter-personal skills, is self- motivated, highly organized and able to resolve problems

Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Must have thorough knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a Class A diesel fleet mechanic.

• Knowledge of air brakes and related plumbing
• Proficient in the diagnosis of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and AC systems
• Knowledge of the mechanical requirements of the DOT/FMCSA/CHP for a HAZMAT fleet, performing intrastate commerce
• Tanker fabrication and aluminum repair experience a plus
• Preventative maintenance background
• CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements a plus, but not required
