SALARY: $58,000-$63,000
ADDITIONAL: $55 monthly phone stipend

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will serve as part of the YMCA leadership team and will be responsible for overseeing, monitoring and managing all aspects and staff of the membership and marketing departments, as well as customer service for the entire association. This position is responsible for the membership departments budget, development and enforcement of YMCA membership policies, and on-going customer recognition for the association. As the oversight to strategic marketing, this position guides the budget, development and implementation of Y marketing strategies, marketing communications and public relations activities, both external and internal.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MEMBERSHIP:
1.Implement membership strategies that promote the recruitment of new members and retention of existing members, per budgetary goals. Ensure high quality customer service and positive member relations.
2.Develop and manage the annual membership budget. Review department transactions and provide monthly budget narratives to the CEO.
3.Capture and utilize survey information and data to identify membership financial shortfalls and create strategic plans for membership sustainment.
4.Directly manage Member Services Assistant Director. Oversee all Membership employees to support personal development and enhance retention; 3-4 full-time, approximately 18 part-time employees.
5.Provide guidance to Member Services Assistant Director and Coordinator in recruiting, hiring, training of front-line staff and volunteers.
6.Serve as a point of contact for Daxko operations.
7.Ensure policies and procedures are in place to support the membership front desk and provide members with exemplary service.
8.Maintain a mutually beneficial relationship between the Valparaiso YMCA and current partnerships.

MARKETING:
1.Develop and execute the YMCA message, voice, and integrated communication strategy. Performs metric-based evaluation of marketing and communications strategies, plans and tactics.
2.Develop and manage the annual marketing budget. Review department transactions and provide monthly budget narratives to the CEO.
3.Oversee all marketing communication through multiple channels to a wide range of stakeholders including members, donors, prospects, community partners, key influencers, volunteers, media, and the community at-large.
4.Lead and manage the marketing team, consisting of 2 full-time employees. Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct personnel and volunteers.
5.Hold responsibility for the marketing budget, including annual narrative, creation, entry, and reporting.
6.Conduct market research and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for effective communication strategies.

OTHER:
1.Participate in leadership committees, fundraising activities, and special projects.
2.Attend Board of Directors meetings, and present information as needed.
3.Follow emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follows procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents, and hazards.
4.Adheres to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications.
5.Obtains and maintains required training(s).
6.Accepts additional assignments as deemed appropriate, within the scope of the job description.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, management, or a related field required.
2.5 years of sales and/or customer service-related experience, with results in maintaining and growing revenue.
3.5 years of marketing experience, specifically in data management and strategic marketing initiatives.
4.Exceptional people management skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
5.Strong communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting.
6.Ability to be a team player and collaborate with multiple levels of the organization.
7.Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently required.
8.Ability to work with confidential matters required.
9.Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
10.Advanced knowledge of membership databases and mobile app experience.
