The OpportunityValvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Sr. Credit and Collections Analyst. In this role, you will manage the entire process from credit application to collection for an assigned portfolio of large customer accounts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, handling credit and collections for large customers within assigned portfolios, analyzing customer personal/business financial statements for creditworthiness, mentoring junior credit team members, and leading team projects.
How You'll Make a Difference
  • Effectively manage an assigned portfolio of large customer accounts.
  • Complete risk analysis to determine the assignment of the credit limit for new customer accounts and renewal of credit limits for existing large customer accounts with full credit investigation. Determine the worthiness of large customers using company/personal financial statements by analyzing cash flow, working capital, and net worth and assigning credit limits. Review credit limits to manage appropriate levels of risk within the assigned portfolio. Provide recommendations to the Manager of Credit for account credit limits exceeding specified amounts with formal documented account analysis. Utilize good decision-making and sound judgment with FAA credit limit authority following Valvoline North America Credit Policy and Procedures.
  • Contact customers with past due accounts, initiate appropriate action, and maintain records according to established procedures that will result in maximum sales, sound receivables, and prompt conversion of receivables into cash with minimum past dues. Daily review of SAP collection workflow and aging reports to facilitate collection of all past due customer receivables within the assigned portfolio of commercial customer accounts.
  • Deep engagement with the largest customers, using strong professional judgment to determine the optimal course to mitigate credit losses. Effectively negotiate and manage special arrangements on marginal/problematic accounts. Keep management and Sales informed of any significant problematic situations.
  • Provide monthly credit metric performance reporting for assigned business groups. Ensure quality, accuracy, confidentiality, and security of customer credit data.
  • Strong customer analytical and problem solving are needed to understand complex financial information data and work closely with other internal Valvoline teams.
  • Support the Manager of Credit as a backup in all credit process-related matters. Lead Credit Team projects. Participate in internal cross-functional project teams supporting business initiatives and credit value drivers.
  • Mentor junior Credit Team members.
What You'll Need To Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field and a minimum of seven years of experience in credit granting, negotiations, and collections or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of one year of advanced financial analysis; experience in obtaining all forms of security documentation and guarantees (e.g., UCC filings, letters of credit, mortgages, insurance)
  • Credit Business Associate (CBA) Certification preferred
  • National Association of Credit Management
  • Advanced financial analysis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skill set
  • Power-user SAP knowledge
