Van Boekel Law Firm, LLC is Hiring a Paralegal Near East Hanover, NJ

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have three (3) years of experience in various legal areas and possess strong administrative and research skills.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research on various topics including matrimonial law and immigration.
- Assist attorneys in preparing matrimonial legal documents for litigious divorces such as pleadings, certifications, and contracts, and ability and skill to fill out immigration forms, knowledge of immigration law (some training will be provided for immigration), knowledge of estate planning such as Last Will and Testaments, Power of Attorney, and Living Wills.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather case information
- Manage and organize case files and maintain document control and control attorney's calendar and availability (Google calendar.) Possibility of working remotely two days per week.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars
- Utilize Clio Billing software to open and close cases and periodically bill clients based upon work done
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in project management tasks related to case preparation, and office management such buying supplies, paying bills, and speaking on the phone with prospective clients (callers.)

Experience:

- Proven experience working as a Paralegal with knowledge of matrimonial law and immigration and some estate planning. Will require three (3) work related references.
- Familiarity with interviewing techniques, family law procedures, proofreading skills, legal research methods, and project management.
