Description

The Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for overall collection of payment. They will manage aging account balances and make collection calls as necessary. The A/R Associate will post payments and assist with the notices of furnishment and lien processes for Vandalia Rental. This team member is required to be very detail oriented, ensuring all payments owed are received and all payments received are processed correctly.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Provide exceptional customer service and address customer inquiries regarding invoices and payment

· Work with customers to resolve discrepancies on invoices or statements

· Process customer statements monthly

· Post payments: checks, EFT, credit card, wire, etc. 

· Perform banking duties as necessary

· Manage aging accounts

· Document debt collection activities for each customer

· Monitor and proactively manage past due accounts for collection

· Write off bad accounts/close accounts

· Prepare promissory notes

· Assist in preparing notices of furnishment; maintain and monitor jobs with notices of furnishment filed 

· Coordinate with collections agencies to collect previous bad debts

· Assist in transferring bad debt accounts to attorney/work with attorney for collections

· Monitor lien dates

· Assist in Preparing and issuing liens and lien releases

· Coordinate with general contractors for payment of invoices

· Monitor and change account status (hold, active, etc.)

· Provide back up to other administrative positions as necessary

· Other tasks/assignments as necessary

Requirements

· Must have experience with high volume accounts receivable

· Minimum High School degree or equivalent, college degree preferred

· Strong experience using any PC (will train on company specific) RentalMan (Wynne Systems) knowledge a plus

· Must have basic accounting knowledge

· Must have strong math skills

· Must have superior customer service skills

· Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel

· Must be able to type proficiently

· Must have telephone customer service skills

· Must have strong attention to detail and organization skills

· Must be able to sit for long periods of time

· Read, write and speak English proficiently

· Must be authorized to work in the United States 

Preferred Skills/other

· Knowledge of mechanic liens and bond claims

· Knowledge of credit reporting practices

· Bilingual (Spanish)

• This is a salaried position with pay at $40,000 - $45,000 annually plus monthly bonus opportunity
